About the event
Pehla Kadam, meaning “first step”, is an evening of conversation, connection and career insight, bringing together Sikh professionals and the next generation of students and young professionals.
Hosted by the UWA Sikh Society in collaboration with the Young Sikh Professionals Network (YSPN), the event will feature a diverse panel of accomplished Sikh professionals whose careers span law, medicine, engineering, finance, technology, business, government and community leadership.
Beyond job titles and career progression, the conversation will explore the experiences behind them, including navigating challenges and change, building confidence, finding opportunities, balancing Sikh identity in professional spaces, and the lessons our panellists wish they had known when taking their own pehla kadam.
